This homework is interesting because I have never had experience 'drawing' digitally before. While my drawing is mostly just doodling, doodling on a computer is not easy on a touch pad as I draw with pencil and paper. Before I start the assignment, I need to make sure I know the software as well as the hardware for the task. I borrowed a drawing tablet, a tool I had never used before, and immediately got overwhelmed with it. I wasn't sure if the tablet was in very good condition and when I failed to draw comfortably with it after a while, I decided to save this battle of figuring out how to use this effectively for another day. I decided to use an external mouse as the "pen", and the touchpad for movement. I am also not super familiar with sketchbook pro, or any drawing software in particular, so I spent a bit of time finding a way to navigate around that.
I listened to the songs to get a sense of the music I will be drawing to. I decided to draw to version B of the song, and downloaded the music file to draw to. When I finally figured out how to capture the drawing, I realized I downloaded the wrong version of the song, thus throwing me off a bit! I tried three versions, one was blighted by a mistake in the capturing setup, finally settling for the third take. I am pretty happy with final result of the exercise, where I was mostly drawing lines as a performance to the music, though if I had better control (for example: a good calibrated tablet, better control of sketchbook pro) I might have done a very different drawing. Anyways, here it is.
