I'll admit it first: not the prettiest site you will see today. I had a bunch of ideas for the final that I wanted to integrate Processing sketch, which uses the twitter API, but then it felt like a very roundabout way to just use the Twitter API. I also have to confess that I don't really understand how to use the library to make it work, so in the end, I settled to make a simple webpage that utilizes all we have learned in web: basic html/css, putting data into a database, use APIs....so I build a site that allows users to input the data that will give them a simple holiday tip in the form of weather, and a location in the form of google map.
User input is then saved into the database. Here's a screengrab:
I tried to add more fields but the API information got much trickier, so I stuck with one field. I used the open weather API for the temperature and condition, and static google maps API for the photo.
